Many Christians graduate from University and remain in the cities in which they studied. Meanwhile the nearby towns a crying out for gospel workers to come and join them. Dewsbury Evangelical Church is a thriving, forward-thinking church of about 120 people. We need Christians to join us in our mission to our town.
Dewsbury is in West Yorkshire, close to the cities of Leeds and Bradford. It is a working-class town of 60,000 people. There is a large Muslim population. It is close to areas of natural beauty. It has a thriving market. There is poverty and social needs. Living is affordable. There are few people who know Jesus.
We have opportunities for service among our existing ministries, including Asian and Muslim outreach, youth and families, asylum seekers and refugees. We have a desire to develop new ministries, such as work among the majority white working classes and older people.
Most of all we want to help you develop in your service of Jesus. We can offer a tailor-made training year suited to your particular gifts and interests.
