Find Dewsbury Evangelical Church Building
Dewsbury is situated in the heart of West Yorkshire, close to the cities of Wakefield, Leeds and Bradford. It is easily accessible by car from both the M1 and the M62.
Car
Our building is right next to Dewsbury ring road, just a few minutes walk from the town centre. There is a large Council car park (Pay and Display, although currently free on Sundays) situated directly behind the building.
To find us, head for Dewsbury town centre, and you will eventually come to the ring road. We can be found between Bradford Road (A652, north end of town) and Leeds Road (A653, North-East of the town). There is one turning off the ring road between Bradford Road and Leeds Road: Cliffe Street. If travelling the ring road clockwise, pass Bradford Road (which disappears left under the railway viaduct), then next left is Cliffe Street; if travelling the ring road anticlockwise, pass the right turn to Leeds, then next right is Cliffe street (you need the right-hand lane of the ring road to make this right turn, signposted "Markets" and "Long and Short term parking").
Cliffe Street almost immediately comes to a small crossroads: turn right onto Crackenedge Lane, after 50 yards pass in front of the church building and then turn immediately left into Sharpe Street, and thus into Sharp Street car park.
If you have satellite navigation, the postcode should work:
Dewsbury Evangelical Church

[Sometimes people confuse us and Dewsbury Baptist Church, which is close by. However, their building has a spire and is inside the ring road – ours is outside. They are at the bottom of Leeds Road, so if you find Dewsbury Baptist Church, you are very close to us!]
Bus and Train
Our building is 10 minutes walk from Dewsbury Bus station, and 5 minutes walk from Dewsbury railway station (on the main Manchester to Leeds line).
From the Bus Station: leave by the north-east door and turn right, then as you pass Macdonalds turn left along Church Street. As it becomes Westgate, follow the road round to the right and then left, and then walk diagonally across the market place, towards the left-hand-side of the Town Hall, and head up Crackenedge Lane. At the junction continue straight on, keeping the market on your left. As the road passes under the ring road bridge and bends to the left, you will see the Church building.
From Dewsbury Train Station: exit the station from the south (Huddersfield/Manchester-bound) platform main entrance, at the road turn left. Basically walk the pavement of the ring road clockwise (cross Halifax Road and Bradford Road), then turn off left at Cliffe Street. Turn right onto Crackenedge Lane at the crossroads, the church building is on the left.
Access
The front of the building has 9 steps, but we have wheelchair access via the passageway to the immediate right-hand-side of the building, where there is a fire door at the rear.
